THE ART OF ZACH JOHNSEN

Pictured: "Family Portrait" by Zach Johnsen.
When we first stumbled across the work of Zach Johnsen, it was purely by accident. His illustrations and designs were gracing the t-shirts, prints, and accessories of a company called Tank Theory, which we later came to understand was a clothing line that he co-founded. From there we perused his online portfolio, which was, and still is, rather stunning to say the least. His illustrations evoke a sense of fantasy and mysticism, with hints of dark undercurrents that foreshadow the coming of bad things (note: see above illustration to better understand what we mean).
However, Johnsen is not solely limited to crafting images of the macabre. His keen eye for design is evident in the diverse clothing and accessory line released through his Tank Theory brand. Images of businessmen wielding chainsaws; business women brandishing Conan-like swords; and other oddities like his "Admiral Burnside" tee.
If you haven't had the good fortune of witnessing Johnsen's work (either in-person or via the ether of the Internet), we recommend that you visit the following resources. You won't be disappointed.
